The Technology

At the heart of our process is the low level cold laser from Erchonia Medical www.erchonia.com called theZerona. This FDA approved laser has been used for over 8 years by American plastic surgeons during traditional liposuction procedures to increase the results and accelerate the healing process.

Here comes the science bit….

Voluminous adipose tissue can appear when fatty material is present, and this, in turn, can bring about enlarged subcutaneous fat regions. Because subcutaneous fat is close to the skin’s surface, laser emulsification can have a dramatic effect. The collapse of adipose arrangements have been noted after laser therapy, reducing their volume and providing effective body contouring results.

The Lux Lipo laser treatment deflates fat cells in targeted areas, releasing the fat in surrounding tissue to be burned off naturally by the body. A clinical trial in the US found that patients treated six times in two weeks, with no changes in diet, last an average of 3.6 inches combined in the waist, hips and thighs, versus 0.56 inches with a placebo treatment.

The procedure has been proven through a double-blind, randomized, multi-site and placebo-controlled clinical study in which patients, on average, lost 3.64 inches from their waist, hips, and thighs. These results were dramatic compared to the placebo group, which only lost an average of half an inch over the same time period.

This animation shows:
•    Healthy adipose cells
•    Fat droplets seeping from the cell membrane
•    Collapse of adipose cell-emulsification
The remarkable images above demonstrate the low-level laser’s ability to emulsify adipose tissue. The pictures highlight the safe collapse of the rigid adipose cell and the secretion of triglycerides and fatty acid from the cell.
